A very easy way of getting a LOT more marks in the Major Project folder (the 8 versions below took a grand total of 20 minutes) is to have several different stages of designs for both your clock and the dvd cover.

In the illustrations below, we see several ways of changing a design. It is not great art(!) but it will, hopefully, give you a few pointers.

The first thing I did was increase the contrast

Then the contrast was heightened even more and the hue changed slightly

Then I made 2 layers, made the bottom layer darker and erased the edges of the top layer

Lettering added... typeface too modern for my idea and the colour pretty horrible...

I decided the whole thing was a bit fragmented and 'bitty', so a large central image introduced.

And the title rotated, with more of the background taken out...

... and the final version.

So, that's 2 A3 sheets of designs in around 20 minutes. All that is needed now is to arrange them on A3 and annotate them.
